Lean Six Sigma Curriculum for Augusta High School Students
Lean Six Sigma is used in many current projects and companies, but not many would think that high schools, school boards, and students themselves would be able to benefit from the methodology as well. High school students are using Lean Six Sigma to improve leadership and have more career opportunities—but this is just part of the benefits they can reap from it. Lean Six Sigma Curriculum for Augusta High School Students of Georgia gives a thorough walkthrough of the process and provides training and certifications for individuals or an entire group in the school as requested.
Many people aren’t aware of the benefits LSS can bring to their work or college lives. They only think that it can be used to boost companies.
LSS helps students become more organized and disciplined and will help them choose many possible career paths when it is time to apply for jobs and even college careers.
These skills can also be used to assist students in obtaining their credits for graduation. It all depends on what level they choose (or “belt” in LSS).
LSS works with students in high schools because the individual who learns the methodology will benefit as they can help companies and organizations later with its implementation and develop valuable skills that include problem-solving and decision-making.
We encourage students to explore the possibilities of becoming more valuable in their companies or for future job positions. Some will find benefits even if they decide to be their own bosses.
Students will be able to organize their time, solve problems, and work with others with our assistance. All this while you learn everything about LSS, its principles, and its structure through proper training.
High School Students: Reaping All the Benefits
Lean Six Sigma training is offered to students and schools by our company in either groups or individually as we know some students want to take the first step and avoid waiting for their schools to include it in their curriculum of studies.
We offer courses based on the yellow and green belts for students as these are the only levels they can benefit from unless they decide to advance later with the methodology.
Before you make a decision, we understand how important it can be to help you understand this methodology and the belts.
First, LSS is an improvement-driven program that encourages students to improve themselves and learn new skills that will help them in their everyday lives.
This will address students’ lack of experience compared to regular training and the lessons they learned in school. It is difficult to achieve this practice before, during, and after starting their careers.
Many students are not able to access LSS in public schools or county school boards because these institutions don’t care as much about providing more tools—with some exceptions. However, we encourage them—or you, if it applies—to allow your students and even teachers to learn how this methodology works and enhance their careers and how they can contribute to the system.
Now, regarding why this is good, students can reap the benefits of learning, but they are not restricted to these:
- There are many career options.
- Many opportunities exist for employment in various fields and industries.
- You can earn credits towards college and graduation
- For any job, a higher salary is possible.
- You’ll learn skills you can apply to your daily work tasks and job.
- Learn how to work with a group.
- Learn how to work well under pressure.
How Do We Teach High School Students?
It all depends on which belt they choose to get trained and certified and how they want to use it. We can help students decide which option is right for them and whether to go for higher levels or stay in the same one and get started immediately with the implementation in different areas and aspects.
The information on Six Sigma is different for each belt at Lean Six Sigma Curriculum Pros of Augusta. Our first belt, the yellow, will go over the basics, theory, structures, and methodology essentials. However, more than being the introductory level, it is also mandatory for those who want to take a green belt later.
A yellow belt covers essential topics, while a green belt covers more complex topics and tools based on real case studies and how it works for companies. Thanks to our guidance, students decide whether a green belt is worthwhile after completing yellow training.
Green belts can be useful in team-based situations because they allow you to collaborate with other students at college or businesses.
Students will be awarded their certification after completing training and passing our exam with a score of 290—minimum—out of 400 points.
